This braid is related to A Broad Lace, but needs a bit more practice because you have to put index finger through two loops on the same side. Note that it is very important to take the loops reversed (from lower shank). If your braid splits, you've been taking the loops unreversed.

Written instructions Place loops on A, B, C left and B, C right.
- A right goes through B right and C right and takes C left reversed.
- Lower B left to C left and A left to B left.
- A left goes through B left and C left and takes C right reversed.
- Lower B right to C right and A right to B right.
Can't figure it out? Watch a video. If you have problems putting your index finger through both loops on the same side, try bending your ring finger a bit more than the middle finger, so the loops become staggered.
A Lace Baston

A Lace Baston is exactly the same braid, but because the loops are departed (bicolour), the result is a braid with vertical stripes. When you set up this braid, pay attention to the dark and light shanks of the loops, you should have light up on the left and dark up on the right (because when you take a loop reversed, dark and light switch places).

A Lace Endented
This braid has exactly the same pattern, but it is set up with two dark and three light loops. I leave it to you to figure out how it looks when finished.

Now you have all the skills you need to tackle Grene Dorge.
